Winter Chiffon

Top: Target, Sweater: Simply Vera, Booties: Simply Vera (old), Scarf: Adrienne Landau Studio, Sunnies: LC Lauren Conrad

The weather has been ridiculously back and forth in Raleigh lately, and today was particularly warm compared to the 40 degree days we’ve had.  I figured that today’s weather made it a perfect winter chiffon day (one of my favorite fabrics).  I’m trying to find the right balance between thick and light fabrics for the winters here, and I think I’m finally getting the hang of it.  The trick to wearing chiffon in the winter is layering – a key trick for most winter dressing.  In order to layer, yet still show off my gorgeous black chiffon tunic, I layered an open cardigan with and asymmetrical hem over it, making sure to avoid one that buttoned.  The flow of the sweater complements the flow of the chiffon top, and it adds a little ease to winter dressing.

XOXO,

  1. Love the pop of color with the scarf in your hair! Lip color accents it perfectly too =)

  2. Agree – the scarf is a wonderful bright contrast to the black and grey – I also love the necklace – that looks really nice !
