This summer has me craving bohemian clothing and accessories, and thankfully there are some crazy sales going on right now!  I’m preparing for our move to California by stocking up on swimwear and grabbing some cuper cute shoes for work.  I nabbed these Rampage peep-toe booties (which I absolutely LOVE) for $17 and some L*Space swimwear at 50% off, but act fast because there’s no knowing when these sales will be over!  Happy shopping 🙂

Lauren

I have to say that this semester has been a crazy one, but all my projects are finally finished and turned in and I only have two finals to go!  If you know me, you know that I love (and I mean LOVE) some swimwear, so summer shopping is always my favorite. Here are some of my current cravings – be prepared for a ton more!

Summer is quickly approaching, and I am so thrilled that the weather is finally warming up!  Thank goodness, right?!  Bikini season is practically upon us, and frankly I’m a huge fan of mixing and matching styles, brands, etc., and I am so in love with this Mikoh and Tori Praver pairing!  I always stock up on some Pura Vida bracelets and embellished sandals for the summer, and I think I’ve finally found the perfect fringe bag (I’ve been searching for what seems like AGES!).  With warmer weather comes warmer water, so I’m stoked to finally get some surfing in.  Summer, get here faster!

Prepping for our trip to San Diego has given me summer fever, and I just can’t wait to escape the frosty Raleigh weather!  This week’s #WIWW is absolutely California-inspired, with everything from 70s sandals to high waisted shorts and a little exotic bling.  To me, nothing says California more than a brightly colored crop top, and this intricately decorated tote would be perfect for traveling or even just for a day at the beach.  As much as I want to shop for new things pre-trip, I’m stoked to save some money and pick up a few things while I’m out there.  Nothing beats some California shopping, right?!

I don’t know about you, but I think that shopping for a guy can be one of the most challenging things during the holidays. I never want to fall into the whole buying him clothes rut, but I know that my husband won’t necessarily buy something that he needs – ok, maybe he doesn’t think he needs it, but I do! I’ve gathered some great options here for the guy in your life- whether it’s your friend, boyfriend, dad, husband or brother. If you find some great guy gift suggestions, feel free to comment below! I would love to hear them!

I’m sure you’ve seen about a million gift guides advising you what to give your friends and loved ones, but I’ve noticed that very few focus on holiday stationery.  Honestly, I have a bit of a stationery obsession.  Seriously, I have collected all sorts of embellished writing paper, envelopes, and thank-you cards since I was young (and I still collect them), so picking the perfect holiday card is quite important to me.  I love ‘designer stationery’, which just seems like a fancy term for small business, high quality stationery, and it really isn’t that much more expensive than picking up a greeting card at your local grocery store or pharmacy.  I’ve included some of my favorite finds so far, and I am quite tempted to order all of them!  Definitely consider ordering single cards or a small box of specialty holiday cards this year- your friends and loved ones will probably love them just as much as you do.

Home decor is an often overlooked gift category, but there are so many wonderfully creative options that you should definitely utilize some home gifts this year!  They can pair quite well with other gifts, like a bottle of wine with this Jonathan Adler champagne candle or feather lucite tray.  Cheeky wall art is always a good bet, and this pun-ny rose piece is absolutely fabulous.  If you need a few stocking stuffers, a great set of quirky coasters or a glammed-up desktop staple (get it?) are great ideas.  If you prefer a more traditional home gift, you can’t go wrong with a modern throw or decorative pillow, especially if they are as cute as these two!

Gift Guide: For Her

It is officially that time of year, where the gift guide rules!  This week, I decided to focus on gifts for ‘her’ – an admittedly easy place to start.  There are so many great gifts for ladies out on the market right now, from the new Starbucks artist cup series to cheeky pillows and, of course, jewelry.  I have searched high and low for some fabulous and funky gifts that almost any lady would be sure to love!  An extra plus for you Raleigh readers: I know that a lot of these gifts can be found locally, particularly the Starbucks mugs and gifts from Furbish Studio (did you know they’re based out of Raleigh?!).

Happy shopping, my friends!

1. Plaid – I am obsessed with plaid this season, and I have been searching for the perfect flannel!  This Zara flannel would be a great addition to your closet this fall.

2. Leopard Pumps – With cold weather comes the need for closed-toe shoes, and leopard is a fabulous semi-neutral.  I practically live in my leopard flats, but have yet to snag a pair of great leopard pumps.  I love that the silhouette of these Ivanka Trump pumps resembles that of a court shoe.

3. Distressed Black Skinnies – I have yet to purchase a pair of distressed jeans, mostly because the fading can be so hit or miss, but I love these distressed black skinnies.  They add a little extra texture to an outfit without appearing over-distressed.

4. Bling – Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, and ear cuffs are a punk-y option to spruce up an outfit this season.  As you cover yourself in more material this fall, why not cover yourself with more bling?

5. Cobalt Handbag – I love a great statement bag, and Rebecca Minkoff’s ladylike totes have stolen my heart.  The bright color is well balanced with its simple design, which makes it great for mixing with lots of patterns!

The temperature is dropping and the leaves are falling, which means one thing: accessory season has begun!  Cold weather may mean bundling up in layers, but fall and winter are possibly the best seasons to really let your accessories take center stage.  I mean, the layers-on, layers-off dilemma can truly challenge a wardrobe, but the right accessories can help your outfit feel complete in all conditions.  I really love this dress from H&M as a base piece because it adds a lot of visual interest – plus it can serve as the platform for your entire outfit!  Fun accessories are great, and this Betsey Johnson beanie is definitely not short on fun.  Neutral colored accessories don’t have to be boring, and these chained boots and See by Chloe bag are super interesting and versatile.  Jewelry is another great way to top off a layered look, and a whimsical piece or two can absolutely make your outfit!
