This Sunday I decided to ditch my usual shorts and don my favorite, and only, skort. I could never fully abandon shorts in the summertime, and I’ve found that skorts and rompers are perfect for switching up summertime looks! Honestly, I know know they’re all truly shorts, but at least it doesn’t look like I’m wearing shorts every day. I have to say that I’m fundamentally opposed to wearing pants in summertime heat – maybe that’s just the Miami girl in me 🙂

I picked up this tank when I hosted the Topshop Nordstrom Southpoint event, and it’s absolutely great! I took advantage of being at Southpoint and dropped by at Forever 21 and found this asymmetrical skort. I was never sure if I could pull off the whole skort look, but for $20 I figured why not try? I like that you can dress it up or down, and the black goes with everything!

British Invasion

The British are ~~coming~~ officially HERE in Durham!!! I had the honor of hosting a shopping event at Nordstrom Southpoint last night in Durham, North Carolina (just a short ride from Raleigh), and I am LOVING the new Topshop section there. It’s quite large, and the variety within the section is truly remarkable- they have everything from Blair Eadie-esque crop tops to overalls to kimonos and pearl-embellished knits! I tried TONS of pieces on, and I have to say that for once it was truly difficult to decide which ones to get (which is a GREAT problem to have, right?). They all fit really well, and I even picked up a basic grey tank top that is, in my opinion, the queen of all tank tops. Be sure to check it out and attend the grand opening of Topshop at Nordstrom Southpoint this Saturday from 1-5 pm! It’s sure to be a blast.

Though I didn’t take my Nikon along with me, I snapped some pictures with my phone of the setup and some favorite pieces that are at Nordstrom Southpoint (get ’em while they last!):

There’s nothing like a date to brighten your day, and my husband and I spent our date day getting fabulous coffee at Jubala Coffee in Raleigh. I kept my attire casual with a touch of sparkle (and a whole lot of energy as you can tell from the photos haha).

BIG NEWS: Tomorrow I’m hosting an event at Nordstrom Southpoint to celebrate the launch of Topshop at Nordstrom Southpoint!!! I’m ridiculously excited, and if you’re in the area tomorrow between 5 and 7 pm, you should definitely come check it out. Details are below 🙂

Topshop loves Southpoint

BIG NEWS: Topshop is coming to Nordstrom at Southpoint Mall TODAY!!! To celebrate, Nordstrom Southpoint has asked Triangle bloggers to host events throughout the week, and Wednesday is our day! I’ll be hosting Wednesday from 5 to 7 pm everyone is invited! Come check it out!

What I Want Wednesday

The upcoming holidays have me craving some glamorous items, but I am also taking this time of year as an opportunity to snag some signature pieces. I’ve learned that signet rings are timeless pieces that can be classic and modern. Baublebar’s Rochas ring is a perfect classic signet ring that I can imagine wearing to any event in the Raleigh area. Baublebar also has a few modern takes on the signet ring, and my favorite is their Custom Disc Charm ring. This version is quite modern and gives no air of pretension.

One thing every girl must have for the holidays is a sequined piece, and this sequined cardigan is a perfect addition to any closet! Plus, it’s under $50 and stocked at your local H&M 😉

When I first saw Topshop’s satin skater dress, I couldn’t help but desire it immediately! The light pink color is perfect for winter and will surely be a timeless piece in your closet. Plus, the faux crop top and skirt look is perfect for those of us who love the trend, yet don’t like to show mid-section skin.

Shoes are a love of mine, and after reading Nina Garcia’s Little Black Book of Style I have come to terms with the fact that shoes are integral to outfit planning (which means more shoes for me!). On the shoe front, Zara has captured my heart with these two pumps- an open-work leather sandal and a mesh and metal pump.
